Prospero: a WordPress website for a European team

The website of Prospero, a European theatre network led by the Théâtre de Liège. It is the second version we have built in eight years, designed so that a whole team publishes on its own, in Liège and at the partners alike.

The context

Prospero New European Wave is a network of European cultural institutions led by the Théâtre de Liège. Each year, over four years, the partners select 40 artists and support them towards an international career.

The content changes constantly: new artists, tour dates, support programmes, news. It is published by the Théâtre de Liège team and by the network's partners, in several countries. We have worked on this project for eight years: this website is its second version.

Our choices

  • WordPress, because a team publishes. Several people, in several countries, add artists, tours and news without going through a developer. Here, a static site would have been the wrong choice.
  • An interface many already know. Getting started is quick, even for partners who only use the site now and then.
  • A structure designed for a network. Artists, support, tours, members, contact: everything has its place, and the site grows from one season to the next.
  • The artists' photos front and centre. They are the artists' own images: the site gives them the room they deserve.
  • A built-in newsletter. The public follows the wave of artists throughout the year.
  • A website in English. The common language of a network that brings several countries together.

What we delivered

The design and development of the WordPress site, the structure, the newsletter, then support for the team and changes across seasons and artistic projects.

The photos are the programme artists' own.
